I have a dog show philosophy about reviewing movies. You can't compare a
horror to a comedy anymore than you can a pug to a wolf hound. I keep a
breed standard of each genre in which to grade its films. So when I rip into
an action film, it's because it isn't a good action movie, not because it
isn't going to win a best of show. From time to time I may cross a movie
with blue ribbon potential and when I do, I'll tell you not to miss it. |
