Jeff Warner

I love movies, that is a given. When I'm not working in the accounting
department at an Oil and Gas company (lots of those here in Calgary),
I'm
either watching movies, reading about them, or trying to convice others
to
go see the goods ones and to avoid the bad ones. Hence, the movie
reviews.

Robert Altman once said, "filmmaking is a chance to live many
lifetimes."
While I don't actually make films, I believe that this quote explains
why I
love movies. I get to see other worlds far different from my own, no
matter
how imaginative they are. I feel numerous emotions through the movies,
many
that I don't feel in everyday life.

I try to see the entertainment value in movies and to give each
and
everyone
an equal chance (but it doesn't always work out that way). Is it
hitting its
target audience, I hope so. If I didn't enjoy it, at least it did what
it
set out to do. If I hate a movie, then I probably really hate it and I
will
let you know in my review, and vice versa with movies I love.

I'm open to all kinds of movies, whether they be weepie chick flicks,
to kid
movies, or even long, tedious foreign movies with subtitles; I'm there.
My
DVD colection grows by the day and will continue to grow so long as
they
continue to release them.

Below is a list of my top ten favorite movies. They aren't in any order
so
take them as they are. There are so many more that would tie in the
11th
position, but I can't list everyone cause the list would be way too
long.

The Third Man (1949)
Crash (2005)
The Squid and the Whale (2005)
12 Angry Men (1957)
Muholland Drive
(2001)
Psycho (1960)
The Devil's Backbone (2001)
Sophie's Choice (1982)
The Pianist (2003)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
