Toy Story 3 surprisingly enough defies the odds, and ends up being a great third entry into the Pixar canon. Again, what is the point of doubting them? If you liked one and two, and who didn’t, the third movie not only doesn’t ruin the franchise but adds some great commentary and new elements. It remains fresh, funny, original and touching.

All our favourite characters are back as Andy begans packing for college, and we are sent on another adventurous journey with Buzz, Woody and Mr. Potatohead among others. As usual there are great action set pieces, many clever inside jokes and characters (including Barbie and the scene stealing Ken doll), and are given an overall very entertaining experience.

Although to me this movie didn’t reach the heights of either Toy Story 1 or 2, it is a worthy companion piece. This was mainly due to me absolutely loving the first two films, and less to do with the quality of the third one.

Either way Toy Story 3 is an awesome time out at the movies, and is a great addition to the best animated trilogy ever put on film.
